USING AND STORING

FIRST TIMER

Before first use give your lids and bowls a quick gentle handwash in soapy water and you’re good to go! See important tips for dishwasher use below.

SNAP TIGHT AND FRESH SEAL

Make sure to release air when seating your lids to ensure the best seal.

STYLEWARE'S BESTIES

Our bowls are best with plastic and wooden utensils, because they help to avoid any scratching.

CATCH THAT SHADE

Like the rest of us, avoid too much time in the sun. What burns and wrinkles us can fade and warp your Styleware, so be kind to your bowls.

NOT FOR THE BONFIRE

Avoid direct flames or heat, though warm food and microwaves work fine with your bowls (just pop the lid off before any nuking).

NOT A CUTTING BOARD

Don’t cut or slice food directly in or on your Styleware (duh!)

COOL ME DOWN (A LITTLE)

When heated, foods that are high in fat, sugar, or oil can burn your Styleware pieces. To avoid any permanent damage, avoid transferring them into your bowls before they’ve had time to cool down.  Likewise, never seal your lid with steaming foods as gas trapping may lead to the lid popping off and burns/damage may result. Ensure the contents have cooled sufficiently before sealing.

DON'T SEAL AND STORE

Here’s one you might not know: When you store your Styleware, keep the lids stacked in their own pile, and the bowls nested together (as opposed to sealing the lids on the bowls, which can affect air freshness).

USE ONLY AS RECOMMENDED

Captain obvious? Clearly, this is the one the lawyers make us say.

CLEANING

YOUR LOVING HANDS ARE BEST

A soft sponge or cloth and warm soapy water is the best thing for your Styleware and will help to preserve glossy finishes.

BUT DISHWASHER'S ARE TOTALLY SAFE TOO

All Styleware pieces are dishwasher safe — hurrah! — but extreme heat warps, so stick to 45 degree cycles, and keep your bowls and lids on the top rack, carefully positioned so they’re not squished between other items. ALWAYS run your bowl and its lid in the same load to maintain the integrity of the seal.

AVOID ABRASIVES

In life, are we right? Seriously though, abrasive cleaners will dull the finish or scratch your Styleware.

STAINS ARE A NO-NO

To help avoid them, rinse your Styleware immediately after use with warm water when you’ve gone for more colourful foods, like tasty curries, dyed iced cupcakes, tomato pastes, watermelon and whatnot, or opt for our darker colours when choosing your bowls.

MICROWAVING

REHEAT IT, BUT DON'T COOK IT

Our Styleware Nesting Bowls collection is designed for reheating and eating, not cooking. We’d recommend you stick to a medium wattage (500W) and short bursts with stirring since extreme heat can warp or damage our bowls.

BE CAREFUL WITH CERTAIN FOODS

When heated, foods that are high in fat, sugar, or oil can burn or damage your Styleware pieces. Food like this might best be microwaved in another dish or very briefly microwaved on a lower setting. To avoid staining it is best to avoid heating foods like tomato based sauces, beetroot, curries or foods with high fat or high sugar content. We recommend using another dish for these types of foods. Our darker colourways are the best choice to avoid staining.

LEAVE THE LID OUT

All of our Styleware bowls are compatible with the microwave, but please keep the lids out.

NO GLOVE NO LOVE

When it comes to handling your Styleware bowl, use gloves or mits to protect your precious hands when removing warm food from the microwave.

STAIN IN THE FORECAST?

Those colourful foods like tomato-based sauces, brighter curries and watermelon (go figure!) might cause staining as a result of natural colourants in those foods and vegetables. This has no effect on the quality or functionality of your Styleware but here’s a pro tip: choose darker colours for these kinds of foods.

FIRE SAFETY

This last one is a tip you probably already know, but don’t put your Styleware into a conventional or convection oven, onto a stovetop, or in, on, or under a grill.

REFRIDGERATING + FREEZING

HOLD ON TIGHT

We’ll keep this section short: Low temperatures cause a temporary reduction in impact strength. Or, said even simpler, they’re more likely to break if they’re dropped, so be extra careful when they’re cool or cold.
