Arnold Circus Stool - Heritage Red
The Arnold Circus stool has become a cult design favourite, and we are thrilled to have them here at The Sunday Society where they are right at home amongst our antique & vintage pieces: the perfect touch of 'new' juxtaposed with the old.
They are ideal as side tables, additional seating, or - tip them upside down and use for storage or planters!
You may think 'Arnold Circus' is a strange name for a piece of furniture but there is a wonderful story behind it.
Arnold Circus is situated in the heart of Shoreditch. Built on the rubble of the old slums, it is part of the Boundary Estate - London’s first social housing project, and houses an eight sided bandstand. The Arnold Circus Stool was designed in 2006 by Martino Gamper - a multidisciplinary designer based in London - as part of a regeneration project. The rotation moulded polyethylene plastic stools are used as the official seating for all annual events held at Arnold Circus which include picnics, brass band concerts and board game tournaments.
This new generation of the stool has been made in New Zealand from 100% recyclable plastic, and offers a slightly more generous seat than the previous UK produced version. UV & outdoor safe.
Please note that due to the rotation moulding process slight surface imperfections may be evident.
